Service: As-Built 3D Modeling, Clash Analysis, 3D Data Optimization
Location: Skopje
Time: December 2018 - March 2019
Project Description
Objective:
The primary goal of this project was to create an accurate and comprehensive As-Built 3D model of the existing facility from point cloud data. The model included systems such as water, powder dosing, milling and mixing equipment, compressed air, instrumentation and electrical systems, civil structures, and architectural elements. The project also included 3D data optimization to improve model usability and compatibility with the client's preferred software.
Scope of Work:
1. Creation of As-Built 3D Model:
Used point cloud data to generate a detailed 3D model representing the existing conditions of the facility.
Organized and grouped the model data by system to improve clarity, navigation, and usability. Systems included:
Water System
Powder Dosing System
Process Equipment for Milling and Mixing
Compressed Air System
Instrumentation and Electrical Systems
Civil and Architectural Components
2. Data Management:
Tagged individual parts and systems and added the required technical information within the model.
Organized the data in a structured format to provide easier navigation, identification, and future reference.
3. 3D Data Optimization:
Optimized the 3D data for integration and use within the client's preferred software environment.
Improved model performance and usability, making the 3D data easier to open, navigate, review, and use for further engineering work.
4. Future Equipment Integration and Clash Analysis:
Integrated 3D models of planned equipment into the As-Built model to evaluate positioning, available space, and compatibility with existing conditions.
Performed clash analysis to identify potential conflicts between existing infrastructure and new equipment, allowing issues to be addressed before installation.
Key Outcomes
Accurate As-Built 3D Model: Developed a detailed digital representation of the existing facility and its main systems based on captured point cloud data.
Structured 3D Data: Organized systems, components, and technical information to make the model easier to navigate and use for future engineering activities.
Optimized 3D Model: Improved model performance and compatibility with the client's software, providing more practical 3D data for further analysis and development.
Clash Identification: Identified potential conflicts between existing infrastructure and planned equipment, supporting better preparation for future modifications and installations.
By combining point cloud data, As-Built 3D modeling, structured data management, and clash analysis, we provided the client with an accurate digital representation of the existing facility. The optimized model provided a reliable foundation for equipment integration, design coordination, future modifications, and installation planning.
