3D Laser Scanning KEK Kosovo Power Plant
Service: 3D Laser Scanning on Boiler A and B, Laser Scanning Data Processing
Location: KEK Kosovo
Time: April 2021 - March 2021
Project Overview
Description:
We conducted 3D laser scanning on Boilers A and B at the KEK Kosovo Power Plant during a period of regular shutdown and overhaul. The purpose was to perform deformation analysis to aid in a feasibility study, providing documented data and conclusions for the plant's operational and structural assessment.
Scope of Work:
1.3D Laser Scanning:
Executed comprehensive 3D laser scanning of Boilers A and B during the shutdown period.
Captured detailed point cloud data to accurately represent the current state of the boilers.
2.Data Processing:
Processed the collected laser scanning data to create precise 3D models.
Analyzed the point cloud data to identify any deformations and discrepancies in the boiler structures.
3.Deformation Analysis:
Conducted a thorough deformation analysis based on the processed laser scanning data.
Assisted in the feasibility study by providing accurate, documented data and insights on the structural integrity and necessary repairs.
Key Outcomes
Accurate 3D Models: Developed high-precision 3D models of Boilers A and B, facilitating detailed analysis and assessment.
Comprehensive Deformation Analysis: Identified structural deformations and provided critical data for the feasibility study, aiding
in decision-making for repairs and maintenance.
Feasibility Study Support: Supplied VPC GROUP with reliable, documented data to support their feasibility study, ensuring informed planning and operational decisions.
Through this project, we enabled VPC GROUP to gain a clear understanding of the structural condition of Boilers A and B, ensuring the power plant's safety and efficiency during its thermal energy production operations. Performed deformation analysis by comparing the CAD model of the Detailed Design against the AS-Built CAD model derived from the scanned data.Ensured the deformation inspection accuracy at every 50cm cross-section interval to detect and analyze any discrepancies.
Key Outcomes
High-Precision Model: Developed a highly accurate 3D CAD model with minimal deviations, ensuring reliable data for further analysis.
Detailed Deformation Analysis: Provided a comprehensive comparison between the detailed design and the as built conditions, highlighting any deformations with precise measurements.
Enhanced Inspection Accuracy: Ensured thorough inspection and analysis by maintaining consistent cross section intervals, allowing for precise deformation detection.
By delivering a detailed and accurate digital twin of the furnace, we enabled VPC GROUP to conduct precise deformation inspections, ensuring structural integrity and informed decision-making for maintenance and improvements. This approach not only improved the reliability of the inspection process but also provided a robust tool for ongoing monitoring and analysis.
